Some good viewing in these videos from L.A. artists who are releasing new albums next month:

OPEN MIKE EAGLE, “Bucciarati” (feat. Kari Faux)

Open Mike Eagle has his day in divorce court in the Demi Adejuyigbe-directed video for “Bucciarati.” The song features Kari Faux’s vocals, but in her absence the video flips the script: Open Mike and the judge (Jordan Katz, who plays trumpet on the song) lip-synch Kari Faux’s parts, and Paul F. Tompkins does Open Mike’s. The rapper-comedian-entrepreneur’s new album “Anime, Trauma and Divorce” comes out Oct. 16, and on Tuesday he and Hannibal Buress kick off a series of five socially distanced drive-in shows (titled “Let’s See How This Goes”) in the Midwest, starting in Cleveland and ending in Open Mike’s native Chicago.

DAWES, “Didn’t Fix Me”

On the heels of the singles “Who Do You Think You’re Talking To?,” “St. Augustine at Night” and “Still Feel Like a Kid,” the L.A. folk-rockers unveiled the animated video for “Didn’t Fix Me.” The poignant single, reminiscent of Jackson Browne’s mid-’70s meditations, is a reminder that there is no easy way out when it comes to personal fulfillment. “It feels very natural to outsource our problems,” frontman Taylor Goldsmith says. “Telling ourselves ‘once I have this job, this partner, this amount of money, etc, I will be happy’ is really effective and convenient. Unfortunately no one’s life actually works that way. I’m sure we all know plenty of miserable people who seem to have it all and plenty of blissful people that seem to have close to nothing. This song is about the efforts one makes to find some easy fix, unable to recognize that it will never work that way, that we are in the end our own responsibility.” Dawes’ seventh album, “Good Luck With Whatever,” is out Oct. 2.

TOUCHÉ AMORÉ, “Limelight”

Venerable downtown bar La Cita is the setting for video for Touché Amoré’s powerful single “Limelight,” which features Manchester Orchestra’s Andy Hull. Phillip R. Lopez directs, and Lola Blac and Nick Lacy play the lead roles. This one will draw you in and hold you to the end. Touché Amoré’s new album “Lament” arrives Oct. 9.
