SoCal-based Yard of Blondes began their explorations of rock’s visceral edges 10 years ago and released the EP that first got them attention, “Murderology,” in 2013. So what took the ’90s revivalists so long to resume their slash-and-burn ways?

Suffice to say there were some hurdles, which included managing their artist visas, multiple lineup changes, stress and finances.

The band is helmed by singer-guitarist Vincent Jacob and bassist-vocalist Fanny Hill, who hail from France but met in L.A. They are now joined in the lineup by guitarist Burak Yerebakan and drummer Forrest Mitchell.

Yard of Blondes roared back in late 2019 with the single “You and I & I,” the first taste of their debut album “Feed the Moon.” And things were looking up — the quartet released “Lowland” early this year and joined the roster of Die Laughing Records. Then the pandemic turned things sideways.

The album, which was made with Billy Graziadei (of Biohazard) and mixed by Michael Patterson (Nine Inch Nails, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Beck, et al), has been pushed back to 2021, but Yard of Blondes today released “Do You Need More?,” a punk-psych ripper about the perils of excess. If snarling guitars and pummeling rhythms are your thing, you’ll need more.
